Rocky Marciano je bio bokser Italijansko-Američkog porekla (nešto kao filmski Roki ) i bio je svetski prvak u teškoj kategoriji u periodu od 1952.g do 1956 godine..Profesionalnim boksom je počeo da se bavi 12 jula 1948 godine a izašao je iz njega 1952 godine kao nepobeđen.Ono što je zanimljivo je to da Rocky nije imao ni jedan poraz i ni jednu nerešenu borbu.90% svojih borbi je završavao knock-outom. Stil borbe je bio sličan kao i kod filmskog Rokija,dakle nije imao neku tehniku, niti je bio neki udarač ali je imao takvu srčnost da je mogao da istrpi udarce i pritom da na kraju nokautira protivnika.
